Overview

Mt.Kanchanjunga (8,586m) is the third-highest peak in the world. Mt.Kanchenjunga is an enormous mountain glacier with many other peaks rising from its narrow icy ridges.which is Located in the Eastern Nepal the border of Nepal and Sikkim, it consists of four separate summits which are - Main Summit, Middle Summit, South Summit & Yalung Kang some people classify it as a separate 8000m Peak or West Summit. The first Westerner to explore Mt.Kanchanjunga was the British botanist JD Hooker, who visited the area twice in 1848 and 1849. Exploration of the Sikkim, side of the peak continued with both British and expert explorers mapping and photographing until 1899. In that year a party led by Douglas made a circuit of Mt.Kanchanjunga and produced a map which is still one of the most authoritative maps of the region.so,it's known that it was first climbed by a British team in 1956 A.D. Nepal is home to the Mt.Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project run by the World Wildlife Fund and the Nepal Government.The rare species such as Red Panda and other montain animals, birds and plants species exist among Mt.kanchanjunga. India also protects its side of Kanchenjunga under the project of the Kanchenjunga National Park. As The expedition to Mt.Kanchenjunga starts from the base camp situated in the panoramic meadows at 5,180 m.
