Hot air balloon is one of the experience flying above the Kathmandu Valley safely perched on a wicker basket, opens up vast vistas of enchanting sights accessible only to the initiated. Breathe easily in the fresh, crisp air of the quintessential Kathmandu dawn as you absorb the 3600 view of awe-inspiring landscape - lush green hills, terraced fields enriched by natures colors, Terra-cotta structures huddled together like watchful sentinels, a gilded temple spire, lonely stupa. Each one bathed by the first golden rays of the rising sun. 
Look right on and there before you rises in majestic splendor the fabled, Himalayan Peaks. Illuminated by stray strands of sunlight the snow capped Gosainthan, Phurbi-Gyachu, Gaurishanker, Chhoba-Shankar, Melungtse, Cho-oyu, Chomolungma adn Gyanchungkang all stand to greet you and lull you into a dreamlike state, that will live on as memories forever.

Nepal climate is ever altering; consequently it all depends on the weather circumstances.  Usually flights begin shortly after dawn, when winds are their calm. During your gentle ascent you will float to about 1200 to 1500 meters, which will bring you close to the 3000 meters mark made by many adventurous climbers. You can experience the Kathmandu dawn as you absorb the 360° view of  inspirational green scenery hills, terraced fills enrich by nature colors, terra-cotta structure huddle together watchful basics, a gilded temple spire, a lonely stupa. 
Each one bathed by the first golden rays of the rising sun. Once the balloon is full and al systems double checked, the lines are let loose and the passenger basket is carried up over the morning fog and into sun lit skies. Daily hot air balloon flights from different locations in the valley, weather permitting, from the first week of October through to the end of April. Flights are organized in the summer months as well but that is even earlier in the morning. Nonetheless, hot air ballooning should rather be kept as a flexible event should you wish to avoid dissatisfaction.  
The best months of a hot air balloon flight are October - November and March, while the season expands from October to April. The flights take place daily throughout the season, and are reliant on the wind for its destination. The passage could take you anywhere, typically to one of the terrace paddies that extend out across the valley, usually attracting a huge spontaneous assembly of villagers coming to see what has descend from the sky.
